Both, PC+ and the carbon fiber fill are hygroscopic, meaning it will absorb moisture if left in a humid environment. If it does absorb moisture, you will notice weird artifacts or difficulty printing. To fix this, we recommend dehydrating the roll in a food dehydrator or via an oven before printing. I typically leave it out for about a week at 30% rH, before having to dry the material.
Polycarbonate is an extremely strong, impact resistant thermoplastic that is widely used in industrial applications. This material does not shatter like plexiglass. It tends to bend and deform similar to hard rubber until it eventually breaks. PC absorbs a lot of moisture in the air. It is a hygroscopic material, and it is best to store in an airtight container when not in use. Even during use the material can become unprintable within a 24 hour print if in a humid environment. Therefore, keeping in an airtight container during printing as well is ideal. Dry filament will print more clear. Filament that has absorbed moisture will print white as well as pop and bubble during the print.
Our PC+ differs from pure PC as it contains additives to make it easier to print reliably.
- High strength and heat resistance
- Malleable while cold and can be bent without cracking
- Exceptionally durable
- Carbon Fiber filled for stronger prints!
- Abrasive, use a hardened steel nozzle.
